Floral BladesFloral Blades takes place before Floral Diaries.Summarized Storyline minus some backstories and a lot of lore:
Azalea is the guard of Prince Rowan from the kingdom of Mokaria. They had known each other since they were kids and Azalea later realized she had hidden feelings for him. Their kingdom was invaded and Prince Rowan went missing. Azalea left to the woods in search for Prince Rowan and stumbled upon Princess Jamesia and her guard, Aspen, from their enemy kingdom, Lunaria. The kingdom of Lunaria was also invaded. The three decide to team up and leave to find help and this is where the journey starts. Azalea finds out that Prince Rowan and Princess Jamesia were secretly meeting up behind Azalea and Aspen’s back and had fallen in love. Azalea struggles to move on with her feelings and thoughts of how things might have been different if she had told Prince Rowan earlier. As the three bond together, Aspen grows feelings for Azalea.The three later stumble upon a small village, Rivale, where they meet Ivy and Aviden. The two join their group and help them out. There is a lot of unsolved mystery with Ivy and Aviden that doesn’t get solved in Floral Blades. The group eventually arrive at the base of the people who invaded the two kingdoms and save Prince Rowan.The story ends with both kingdoms being restored and chasing out the invaders. Azalea has moved on and begins a relationship with Aspen and Prince Rowan and Princess Jamesia get engaged with brings peace between both kingdoms. Ivy and Aviden part ways with the royals and leave back to their village which leads to the beginning of Floral Diaries.I did not include all of the current lore because I have gotten bored of writing Floral Blades and I don’t care about spoilers (because I'm not changing the lore right now). The lore is written on my google docs but I don't have any motivation to write on Rowan, Jamesia, and Aspen's character arcs.Relevant Floral Blades Characters:

Ivy was from an orphanage in Gentiana. She was very distant from the other kids, often drawing or daydreaming alone. That was until Aviden, a child 2 years younger than her from the slums was introduced in the orphanage. Like Ivy, Aviden also had a difficult time with the other kids, often not being able to understand social cues. The two were often paired together by the caretakers since they didn’t wander off or cause trouble like the other kids. Despite this, the two were not friends and did not talk to each other.Aviden was later pushed by the caretakers to befriend Ivy. Since Aviden didn’t know how to get her attention, he grabbed her sketchbook and ran off, getting chased by a furious Ivy. Ivy started to attack him and the two got into a fight. Aviden had the upper hand because he had been in multiple fights in the past. He punched Ivy really hard and she fainted. From this day forward, Aviden has felt super guilty about what he did. He apologized many times to Ivy for punching her but Ivy was more mad that he took her sketchbook lol.After the incident, the two started to get closer. Aviden followed Ivy around everywhere, fascinated by her. Ivy viewed Aviden like an annoying bug who would fly around her face. She didn’t have any alone time to daydream anymore and she would get annoyed when he stared at her drawing. Eventually she got used to it and he became the only one she got comfortable with to watch her draw.Aviden was later adopted by a caring family from Rivervale. He cried for many days from having to separate from Ivy and never seeing her again. Ivy thought she was glad he left but she found her life to be lonely afterwards.The orphanage shut down and Ivy was transferred to a different town. Instead of an orphanage, she worked around the town for a bit of money. She later escaped at 16 years old and found herself in Rivervale where she lived a life as a thief to survive. When she was 19, she was caught by Aviden, who was an apprentice guard of the town. She was then forced to go into rehabilitation and do community service while being overseen by Aviden.Azalea, Aster, and Jamesia came by. The three recruited Ivy and Aviden to help them. This is where they get introduced in Floral Blades.

Azalea is a very reserved protective person who serves as Prince Dimitri’s guard. Under her focused and stoic self lies someone who is awkward and disorganized.Azalea grew up as a thief in the town which bothered her grandmother a lot. On one occasion, she found herself messing with a group of bandits and was about to be killed. Prince Dimitri and his mentor stepped in and saved her. It gave way to him and Azalea becoming good friends. As a way of trying to change Azalea’s thievery ways, Dimitri’s mentor offered her the opportunity to train as a guard. Years later, Azalea became Dimitri’s personal bodyguard as a way of returning the favour he once showed her. It also took years for her to realize her feelings for him, but it was too late. She had already been helping him meet up with Jamesia prior to the invasion.Design notes:
